Campus Life
As a Leader in Me School, Hillcrest teachers provide daily lessons centered around Stephen Covey's The 7 Habits of Happy Kids. Staff are actively engaged through their participation on an Action Team. And, the school's overarching goals include developing leadership skills, creating a high-trust culture and assisting in improving academic achievement. Through our participation in the Gre4t Initiative, students create their own personalized goals and take ownership of their learning. This program also fosters leadership skills by giving students input into instructional planning based on their learning styles.
As Hillcrest Leaders, we establish principles that help build the leader in every individual by applying the HABITS as follow:
Honesty: We will always tell the truth and answer honestly.
Achievement: We will plan ahead and set high goals.
Behavior: We will do the right thing without being asked, even when no one is looking.
Integrity: We will be proactive.
Teamwork: We will value other people’s strength and learn from them.
Success: We will spend our time on things that are most important.
